ANIMATED SKETCH COMEDY DUO “FROG BOYZ” DEBUT “SUPER SONIC BRUNCH” A NEW LIVE ACTION/ANIMATED SHORT TO CELEBRATE THE “SONIC THE HEDGEHOG” MOVIE, FEATURING COMEDIAN, MILLY TAMAREZ, AND THE VOICE OF “OUR CARTOON PRESIDENT’S” BRETT DAVIS

PREMIERING FEBRUARY 5TH, 2020

Super Sonic Brunch is a nostalgia driven sketch from Frog Boyz, yet it feels refreshingly relevant. Not only does it address the highly anticipated Sonic The Hedgehog film, it also takes a look at celebrity obsession, cancel culture, and our unhealthy relationship with social media. Super Sonic Brunch is for anyone who loves pop-culture, old video games, and anyone who has ever had an awkward encounter with a celebrity.

Super Sonic Brunch features the voice talent of Brett Davis, who’s NY cult comedy talk show The Special Without Brett Davis, utilized the talent of Michael Shannon, Richard Kind, Rose McGowan, Julio Torres, Kevin Corrigan, Artie Lange, Janeane Garofalo, Jackie Earl Haley, Aparna Nancharla, and Frog Boyz founders, Jesse VandenBergh and Sean Newman! Brett Davis also voices Anderson Cooper in the CBS hit animated comedy from Stephen Colbert, Our Cartoon President.

The sketch also features Milly Tamarez, an up and coming comedian based out of Brooklyn. She has written for NPR, The Onion Studios, Reductress, Magnifier Magazine, BRIC, and worked on a collaboration with HBO and The Root. She has been featured on MTV, Vice, BET, Flama, Above Average, Univision, and Comedy Central. She is the one of the creators and producers of Flexx (a satire magazine for people of color) and Diverse as Fuck Festival a festival that highlights diversity in comedy. Milly is also one of the founders of the all women of color improv team Affirmative Action.

ABOUT FROG BOYZ

Frog Boyz started in September, 2016, when sketch comedians, Jesse VandenBergh and Sean Newman realized their ideas were too high concept to produce for little to no money. That is why they turned to animation. VandenBergh always had a knack for drawing, and studied art in college. Newman worked in post-production and had past experience with animation software. With their powers united, Frog Boyz was born! Over the past 3+ years, they have worked with up and coming comedians such as Chris Gethard, Naomi Ekperigin, Dina Hashem, Addie Weyrich and Mamoudou N’Diaye. Last year, the Frog Boyz parody of The Lion King received more than half a million views on YouTube, and is a favorite among fans.
